Builder Heart is a technology studio, which offers freelance web development and concept development.

My name is Nils Norman Haukås and I have been working as a professional web developer since 2014. After many years as an IT-consultant and CTO at Netlife Bergen  (today Tre), I decided in 2023 to go my own way. With Builder Heart I combine customer projects with in-house product development.

In my work it's important for me to build technology that not only delivers value in the short term but also over the course of many years. That's why I program without using large-language models (LLMs). More and more developers are realizing that AI is ethically deeply flawed and developer communities are therefore rejecting AI. To program without AI does result in a slower initial development speed, and yet it's vastly cheaper in terms of development and maintenance over the solution's total lifetime.

 

Modernization and «AI-salvage»

Do you have a legacy IT-solution that needs to be improved? I help businesses document and clean up codebases which have become so hard to work with that they hamper development and create security risks.

I also offer «AI-salvage» work of codebases that were initially built with AI, but the organization now wishes to tidy it up and continue development without AI.

Web development

I help small and big businesses succeed on the web. I specialize in building web sites with Craft CMS that delivers value and offers a great user experience for both the people producing content and the end users visiting the web site.

Cloud-exit

I aid organizations in planning and performing cloud-migrations to European, Nordic or on-prem infrastructure. I offer developer courses in Ansible to build DevOps-workflows against Linux machines running on-prem or in a European cloud.
